Clean Your Motherboard
I’m going to show you the proper way to clean your motherboard, whether you’re just getting a new one or your current one is dirty and covering viruses and you want to wash it then I’m going to show you the right way to do it so it shouldn’t be too difficult now reasons you might want to clean your motherboard just like when you get new fruits and vegetables from the store and you want to rinse it off the same is when you get a new motherboard it’s a good idea to Washing Electronic Circuits.
it’s not a bad idea to get it clean if it’s been used for a while now really the only three things you’re going to need are first a general-purpose cleaning spray I’m using oxy clean then second is a dishwashing detergent, not regular soap because it’s going to be harder to rinse off this is nonscented you don’t want to get a scented version this, for example, is orange scented you don’t want to use this because it’ll make your motherboard smell.
How to Wash your Motherboard Properly
Give your motherboard a quick rinse
and finally, you’re going to need a sponge don’t use a cloth or paper towel a sponge works best for this now the first thing you want to do is just give your motherboard a quick rinse this is just going to get off all the top layer residue and the rest of it is going to be removed with the soap so after you give the quick rinse the first thing you want to do is spray it with your cleaner alright you don’t have to overdo it just give it a quick spray and then that should be good rinse it off again.
okay now by now your motherboard should be pretty dirt free but we’re not quite done yet you finally want to use the dishwashing detergent a few drops you don’t need a lot I put four drops on one in each corner so that should be good for you to give it a quick rinse but don’t wash off the detergent all the way you just want to wet in it now you wait for your sponge this is one you want to give it a good scrub get in all the good nooks and crannies because you never really know.
where that dirt and viruses are going to be hiding or anything like that anything a virus scanner can’t get rid of this should do the trick alright so you can just watch me see what I’m doing here just getting in all the nooks and crannies make sure you get on the Northbridge you look pretty good because that’s where a lot of viruses like to hide all the PCI slots and the Southbridge is well really given a good scrub on the CPU slot because you know that’s the most important part Ram also the RAM slots.
and the power connections are okay once you get the back plugs and ports all washed off you should be really good to go alright so finally you’re going to want to rinse it off for the final time and since it’s dishwashing detergent, it should come off no problem now once you’ve rinsed it all off there are no suds left I recommend letting it air dry if you’re really in a hurry you can throw in your drying machine but it’s probably better to just let it air dry alright by now your motherboard should be good to go and ready to put in your computer.
